Published the specifications for visiting activities at the Asinara Marine Protected Area for the year 2021

Asinara National Park with its Marine Protected Area is ready for visiting activities for the 2021 summer season. After the past year that was conditioned by the arrival of the pandemic and resulted in a reduction in attendance especially in the spring and fall months, the protected area comes up with a proven organization in order to allow a visit in full safety and in harmony with the environment.

The activities in the Specification will be able to allow, in accordance with an articulated anti-contagious plan, excursions to visitors through mainly contingent groups immersed in nature or the entire marine area. Basically, the contents of the specification to the regulations of the Marine Protected Area and the Park recall the organization of visits in past years and may be subject to change only in relation to any government decrees, both national and regional, which may determine any limitations in the number of people that can be transported.

Therefore, again this year, a safe offer will be proposed, with the 52 square kilometers of Asinara covid free, with activities capable of creating a positive relationship between man and nature. The safe organization will be assisted by a digital promotion system, organized in the information points of the tourist offices in Porto Torres, Stintino and Castelsardo, and a cell phone downloadable app.

The Specifications published on the Park’s website will allow for the best organization of guided underwater tours, recreational boating with associated buoy fields, passenger transport, sailing charters and fishing tourism activities, with a view to adhering to the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism and the path to certification with the Park’s Seal of Quality.

Applications from interested operators must be submitted to the Park Authority by May 6, 2021.
